I was lucky to travel to Tuscany in spring and experience one of Europe’s most beautiful regions. The travel first begun in the romantic city Florence, and then to charming Pisa.
The best time to visit Tuscany is actually in spring and autumn. If you come here on summertime, the weather can be too hot for you to handle and it’s usually packed with tourists. In spring and autumn the hotel prices and plane tickets is cheaper as well. The two cities you have to visit is of course Florence first and drive over to Pisa.
Romantic Florence ❤
Colourful old buildings full of history in combo with facilities that every city should have: shopping, restaurants, cafe’s and a lively nightlife. Florence is a beautiful city in every way. If you drive around 30-60 minutes out of town, you’ll see the another beautiful side of Florence.
The green surroundings and the amazing long Tuscan trees and the many vineyards. Did you know Tuscany has as many as 1000 vineyards only in Florence? As one of the worlds largest exports in wine, there’s no wonder you’ll get one of the best Italian wine from this region.
You can either choose to stay at a villa, long away from the hectic city and just live in a peaceful place surrounded with trees and nature, or you can stay at a hotel close to the city if you want to experience the city life.
Best hotel to stay in Florence city: Hotel Villa La Vedetta
Best villa to stay at the quiet part of Florence: Il Paluffo
Charming Pisa ❤
I recommend exploring Tuscany by car – and only 2 hours away from Florence you’ll get to another must see city, Pisa.
This charming city reminds a lot of Florence, but it’s a bit smaller and it really point out with having one of the worlds most famous tower’s; The leaning tower of Pisa. Make sure to visit the marketplace close to the tower, and also take a visit to the cathedral – it’s truly a beauty inside!
It’s also possible to get inside the tower if you want, but you have to pay around 10 euros and it’s usually long ques. A perfect picture moment!
The shopping here is good as well, and you’ll find it right next to the long bridge. The nightlife and best places to eat is here too.
Best hotel to stay in Pisa: Bagni Di Pisa
