Milan: The city of fashion

Going to the fashion capital you don’t only need to look fabulous, but also know where to go to shop for more outstanding outfits. Milan is the perfect shopping getaway, but be aware the city is known for their exclusive boutiques, all from Chanel, Dior, Prada, Versace to Valentino. If you’re here to shop, then bring with you money, and a lot of it.

Let’s just say: As one of the capitals of global fashion, Milan is home to top-notch designer stores, boutiques and outlets ranging from the most expensive, to the very affordable while still maintaining the quality and elegance that Italian fashion is famous for.

You’ll see handsome men in tailored made suits and real leather shoes rushing away with their leather suitcases, and then there’s the beautiful Italian women; a modern day Sophia Lorens walking around in amazing designer dresses and handbags you only see at the runway. Italians have style, and especially in Milan.

But where to shop in Milan?

Remember that the main fashion street is at the city square,  Piazza del Duomo (with the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II) and the high class fashion square, Quadrilatero della moda (including fashion streets Via Montenapoleone, Via della Spiga, Corso Venezia and Via Manzoni).

Family owned boutiques, designer stores and all that in one beautiful building that was built from 1865 to 1877.

The building is a piece of art itself, so take time to take a lot of pictures here while taking a cup of coffee!

In Galleria Vittorio Emanuele there are label shops such as Max Mara, Moreschi, Bruno Magli and Pollini, but there are also other stores that is much nicer to your wallet, such as H&M, Zara and Furla.

At these streets you’ll find boutiques from Dior, Armani, Prada, Versace to H&M, Paul Smith and Swatch.

Want department stores?

Go to Corso Buenos Aires or the other street via Dante, stretching from the duomo to the castle, it has loads of high street shops as well as regular market stalls.

Sleep like a real fashionista
